26 November 2008 (Wednesday)
- It was team building day for 2nd group - my group. That means its time for me to forget the office and (supposed to) enjoy the day at the eagle ranch, Port Dickson. Yeah, I know, that is very far away (from KL) considering that we are going to have this activity for just one day. But what I don't know is that today is the day where I got drifted to (almost) another island for the first time of my life.

Even though the schedule wants us to rendevous at Berjaya Times Square (BTS) as early as 7 in the morning, but I already knew it's gonna be 7.30 when people start showing up and will depart only at 8 (just like the last year trip).

And I was right.

But since my buddy David Wong Yew Fatt said he wants to be there before 7 and  I want to fetch him from his house, so we kind of arrived to BTS as early as 7 o' clock, to see only both of us plus two big boss Wilton Lee and Abdul Halim waiting alone at the Starbucks open seat in front of BTS. The rest of the crowd start to shows up around 7.30am and we depart at 8.10am.

We arrived at Eagle Ranch somewhere around 9.30am, and treat ourself breakfast before the game kicks off at 10.30am. It was Go-Kart. And this is the first time I do go-kart.

As expected,  I was good but not suitable for this game. I was good because although this is my first time, I managed to cut two go-karters in front of me (with the marshall waving hard the yellow flag asking me to slow down) without any accidents or damage. And I was not suitable for this game because I am a hot-tempered driver. I knew it and it does applied to this small car.

The second game is not my game at all, archering - out of 8 arrows, only three managed to stick on the board. Yeah, I don't want to talk more about this.

The last game, is the sea rafting. I know I hate this game. Basically I'm just not the guy to tie this knot and paddle the boat. But, team work is team work. Finally we (forgot to mention I was in Team 1)  managed to get the things done and brought it to the sea. The objective is very simple - capture the flag. Unfortunately, it's not as simple as what we do in the Hack In the Box security conference (there were also a game called 'Capture the flag'), because this flag is in the middle of the sea in the middle of the Port Dickson beach.

It was a heavy current (or wind, i think) that makes the marshall cancel the game beforewe managed to get the flag - but it's too late. Out of four raft, two got drifted into the 'kayu bakau', one far away from the beach. Only one manage to returns.

Back to the one that drifts far away to another small island  (yeah, that was my team raft). We kinda of totally screwed until the rescue boat come and tie our raft to their boat before being pulled in back to the course. It was not a nightmare at all (basically because I know I will get rescued, haha).

That was the last game of the day. We took our bath and dinner at 7, before departing back to KL. We reached BTS around 10.10pm, and was too tired. So many of us takes half-day off the following days.

Sekian.
